Information You Submit
A name, telephone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the outside provider that supplies the results. Our servers do not retain a copy of those searches. When you contact us, we receive the details included in your message and use them to respond.
Information Collected Automatically
Standard hosting logs can record an IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. We review grouped statistics to maintain performance and understand which resources are useful. Cookies or comparable tools may provide basic analytics and advertising measurement where those services apply.
How Information Is Used
Collected information supports site operation, troubleshooting, traffic measurement, and content improvement. We neither sell lists of visitors nor create individual visitor profiles.
External Websites and Portals
Links may lead to Lake County offices, Indiana agencies, Gary Public Library collections, archives, and outside search services. Information submitted on those websites is controlled by their privacy policies rather than this one. Sponsored results are also furnished by a third party under that provider's own terms.
When Information Is Shared
Hosting and support providers process ordinary server logs on our behalf. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. We may also disclose information in response to valid legal process; otherwise, we do not disclose it.
Safeguarding Your Information
An encrypted connection protects traffic to the site, and logs are retained only for as long as the stated purposes require. Because visitors have no accounts, this site stores no visitor passwords or account profiles.
Visitors Under Age 18
This service is intended for adults, not children. We do not knowingly collect a minor's personal information. Contact us if you believe someone under 18 submitted information, and we will remove it.
Your Indiana Data Rights
Depending on coverage and applicable exemptions, the Indiana Consumer Data Bill of Rights, Indiana Code 24-15, provides rights concerning access, correction, deletion, and certain opt-outs for personal data held by covered businesses. The law is effective and enforced beginning January 1, 2026. State agencies, many nonprofit organizations, and other categories are exempt, so the law does not create one deletion process for every record source.
Because we retain little visitor information, a request generally involves checking the contact mailbox and available server logs. Send a request through the Contact page. Public records maintained by Gary, Lake County, or Indiana custodians remain outside our control. A correction, redaction, or removal request for one of those records must go to the office that maintains it. Indiana's Access to Public Records Act, Indiana Code 5-14-3, governs access to public agency records but does not require an agency to erase a lawfully retained record.
